![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: My husband is 47 and he is experiencing a nauseated and dizzy feeling that starts in his chesst area goes up to his head and then radiates down his left side. He has to sit down before he faints.
Brief Answer:
A syncopal attack..
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
From your description, I believe his symptoms are secondary to a syncope. It is a condition where blood pressure drops (due to multiple factors) resulting in dizziness and nausea. Sitting up with low blood pressure will reduce brain circulation and that causes fainting.
Though I am pretty sure he has a syncope, I am not able to figure out the reasons why he develops those.
Generally the usual causes are not sinister. However there are few which need medical attention. So I suggest you discuss about this possibility with your local physician. If your doctor agrees, then please ask for a cardiology referral.
