What Causes Nausea When Suffering From Anxiety And Depression?

default
Posted on Mon, 23 Feb 2015
Question: I have been feeling nauseus for the past two days. I have been going through anxiety and depression for a while. I used Pepto Bismol yesterday 2 tablets but I woke up this morning with a sick feeling in my stomach still. I take Norvasc and there is a moderate interraction with pepto bismol. The other night I had Penne Alla Vodka and maybe that is what caused the nausea because I woke up the next day with the sick feeling in my stomach. I also have lost about 12 pounds since going through the anxiety. I am on Klonopin but nothing for depression. I really need your help on how to get rid of this sick feeling in my stomach. I know it can be caused from anxiety or depression. This morning I had tea, crackers and applesauce. I am allergic to yeast so can't eat much yeast so I stay away from bread so that is the probably the reason I lost so much weight I don't know. I have been taking 3/4 mg. of Klonopin for about 1 year. I started about 2 years ago taking the Klonopin after my Dad had Alzheimers but I took it once and a while. The Klonopin doesn't work like it used to.

Brief Answer:
take pantoperazole, veggies & antid depressant

Detailed Answer:
Hello
After going through your query I think that the nausea is more related to anxiety and may be dietary problems and nothing else.

You can take omeprazole or pantoperazole , empty stomach in morning for a week and ondansetron 2mg SOS in case of extreme nauaea. This will help you feel better and ler you eat something.

Next important thing is to avoid tea/ coffee and liquor. These add to anxiety and also upset stomach and digestion. All anxiety patients should stay away from all kinds of stimulants.

You have anxiety and depression from past year or so and are not on any proper anti depressant drug...why so? Klonopin is only for symptomatic management and is not curative. Using klonopin regularly or sometimes even on SOS basis can leas to nausea. Get you liver checked by doing LFT.

Klonopin is a benzo and it looses effect over time beacuse there is development of tolerance. So, it is not giving you relief like before.

Please take more green foods/ walnuts / salads/ and less spicy -oily stuff...this will help a lot.
Also, start a anti depressant drug and get well.

Dont worry, your problem is conpletely treatable with meds and lifestyle changes.

hope the reply is useful for you.
please feel free to ask more questions for clarification.

wish you good health!
