Question: Need opinion I had vertigo spell when I woke up one morning in November of last year and till this day I have the sensation that I am Moving when I am still. I have been to 5, ent, who say it's not an inner ear problem they sent me to neurology, one says I have bppv and another said I had vertigo. Nothing spins on me, I get the sensation that I am moving, rocking while standing still. All mri and mra of head and brain and neck are normal. I dis accupuncture that helped a little but I still have it, now I am going to a cheipractor neurology and said that my left side of the cerebellum us weak and that's the reason for my off balance sensation... He did the epley and he said I do not have bppv or inner ear problem. It's been 5 months, what can this be, all bloodwork is normal. I am taking b2 and magnesium oxide as per 1 neurology who keeps wants to see me in 3 weeks. What are these vitamins good for? I have no headache just this odds sensation that I am moving when I stand still, unsteady in my feet.

Brief Answer: Neck arthritis... Detailed Answer: Hi, thank you for posting. I had gone through your query and understand your concerns. From all your symptoms I can say that you suffer from neck arthritis. Neck arthritis affects neck vertebrae(cervical vertebrae). This disease cause neck muscle spasm, and this spasm cause narrow of blood vessels that are located in neck. When this happen blood flow to the brain base is lowered, and then the dizziness is showed up. 1. You need a neck vertebrae Ct-scan, to check vertebrae condition, and to find if you suffer from arthritis or not. 2. If Ct-scan is negative, then you need a Cervical CT angiography, to check blood vessels condition. 3. Make a glycemic index test, to exclude the possibility for Diabetes mellitus. 4. Lipid test, to check the level of cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL(Low-density lipoprotein) and HDL(High-density lipoprotein) in blood. These 4 tests and procedures will determine the right diagnosis and the right treatment. You should consult your neurologist and your angiologist. Vitamin B2 and magnesium oxide improve neurological cells functions(neurons function). For anything unclear ask me. All the best. Dr. Behar.

i uploaded my reports for your review… mri of brain, mra of neck and head, and mri cervical spine.

Brief Answer: Cervical disc herniation... Detailed Answer: Hi. From the reports you uploaded I noticed that you have a posterocentral disc herniation at C5-C6 and a mild bulging at C6-C7. These findings shows us that you suffer from cervical disc herniation. The vertebrae problems at C5-C6 and C6-C7 can cause compression of nerves and blood vessels. These also cause neck muscle spasm. As I said to you above, neck muscle spasm cause your symptoms(dizziness). MR Angiography is normal. The treatment for your case is a conservative treatment. This treatment contain anti inflammatory non steroidal medicines and antispasmodic(spasmolytic) medicines. I recommend you to keep your neck straight, by using neck immobilizer. However you should make Lipid and Glycemic test. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. I wish you a fast and healthy recovery. Dr. Behar.

Both lipid and glycemic were normal... How did I get this? Out of the blue Orto said that disc hernia tigon is not cauismg my dizziness off balance sensation.. Can a chiropractor help

Brief Answer: A chiropractor will help you... Detailed Answer: If lipid and glycemic levels were normal, you shouldn't worry. I saw MRA of head and I can say that this examination is normal. As for dizziness, it is indirectly caused by neck disc herniation, because neck disc herniation causes neck muscle spasm(contraction). Then neck muscle spasm causes dizziness. A chiropractor will help you, because chiropractic treatment restores the structural integrity of the neck, reduce pressure on the sensitive neurological tissue, and consequently improve the health of the individual. What is lipid and glycemic... My bloodwork was normal
doctor
Answered by Dr. Behar Greca (13 hours later)
Brief Answer: I have explained below... Detailed Answer: Lipids are fatty acids in bloods. Lipids are necessary, but when the level of lipid is high in the blood, then the risk for artery sclerosis is high. Glycemia(glucose) is the level of sugar in blood. When the level of glucose is high, then the risk for artery sclerosis and diabetes is high. Lipid test is a test that shows the level of cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL(Low-density lipoprotein) and HDL(High-density lipoprotein) in blood. Glycemic test is a test that shows the level of sugar in the blood. Glycemic level and lipid level are not checked in a simple blood test, because blood test is a test for counting the number of white and red blood cells and the number of platelets in 1 cubic millimeter of blood. that was all normal… chiropractors says that my left side of the cerebellum is weak and he is going to work on strengthening that…. doest hat mean i had a stroke and its not showing up on the mri…. i feel like i have a ball bouncing in my head.

Brief Answer: You don't have a stroke... Detailed Answer: If your chiropractor says that he is going to work on strengthening that side of cerebellum that is weak, that doesn't mean you have a stroke. MRI is a correct test, and the results of this test are exact results. So you shouldn't worry, because your brain is functioning normally. Dr. Behar.

Can that be causing me feeling like I am moving when I am not?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Behar Greca (33 minutes later)
Brief Answer: Yes... Detailed Answer: Cerebellum is the area of the hindbrain that controls motor movement coordination, balance and equilibrium. Cerebellum can cause dizziness and loss of balance. But Cerebellum itself is caused by neck disc herniation. Dr. Behar.
