What Causes Neutropenia?
Question: Please allow a hematologist to answer - Is it normal for the the ANC to vary up and down weekly with weekly neupogen injections and what should my wife ask the doctor or what tests should she ask him to perform when she sees him next week ?

There are many causes for that.
viral infection, autoimmune disease, lupus, aplastic or hypoplatic bone marrow, myelodyplasia, idiopathic neutropenia and many more.
She is taking filgrastim injection. It stimulate neutrophil production. But within short time neutrophil count decrease because of destruction or low production. So variatiin is common with filgrastim.
She should find the exact cause of neutropenia and anemia. Then she needs to take treatment accordingly.
