What Causes No Fetal Heartbeat At 6 Weeks Pregnancy?
Question: Dear Sir/Madam,
I am 32years old. Got married in december 2013. I had one miscarriage in January at 4rth month ending. Problem started with bleeding. Next day ultrasound showed heartbeat and movement have been stopped. By oral medicine baby came out. Placenta doctor had to take out. I am again 6w6d pregnant. From last 4 days had brown and red spotting. Did ultrasound today. Sac is 17mm and fetus is just 2mm visible. Heartbeat is not seen. Very much worried. Internal bleeding is also seen. My question is should we wait for few more days for heartbeat? What are the possibility for successful pregnancy? In case of insuccessful pregnancy is it required to go for curating or oral medicine is fine?

Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Heart beat of the fetus is normally visible in a transabdominal ultrasound, when the gestational sac is around 25mm, by a transvaginal ultrasound it is visible by the time the gestational sac is 18-20 mm.
So, there is still some hope.
I will suggest you to get a transvaginal ultrasound after one week to review the condition.
If the heart beat still do not appears, then you can very well terminate the pregnancy by medical method including mifepristone and misoprostol.
