What Causes Numbness And Weakness In Left Hand During Pregnancy?
Question: Hello doc, I am just 5 week pregnant...and feeling numbness and weakness in my left hand...i am also having pain in my back neck just in the middle..radiating to mu back and shoulder...there is also tngling feel in my leg...but there is more and weakness numbness in left shoulder...is this something serious??should I go for some diagnosis??? I am also feeling it sometimes in my ear and jaw side..plz advice..

I have read your query and understood your concern.
Your body undergoes lot of changes during pregnancy which includes physical and hormonal.
Tingling and numbness in hands can occur due to iron deficiency anaemia or deficiency of VIT B12 or even due to carpal tunnel syndrome ( a tiny passage in wrists through which nerves pass).
Carpal tunnel gets swollen due to water retention which ultimately compresses the nerves resulting in numbness and tingling.
Although there is nothing to worry as these symptoms are common but I would advise you to consult your doctor for routine examination so as to find any deficiency and rectify it.

Doc I am also having severe gastric...can it cause pain in my left shoulder pain and numbness??as I am in very early stage can it be cts??

Although CTS can bring some symotoms in first trimester but ideally they trouble you more in 2nd trimester and moreover the symptoms are numbness,pain and tingling in fingers,hands and wrists and not in shoulders.
Please do get your VIT D and calcium levels also checked up.
