What Causes Numbness In Body While On Peritoneal Dialysis For Kidney Failure?

Question: Hello, I am a 32 yr old white male who has had both Chronic Pancreatitis and Chronic Kidney Disease for almost ten years now. A terrible case of acute pancreatitis was the cause of the Kidney failure to begin with. I was placed on dialysis at the onset of the disease and remained on it three times a week for two years. Eventually I was able to get off dialysis and stayed off for over 6 years until finally being placed on Peritoneal dialysis at home...which I prefer. My Blood Pressure problems are ALWAYS a problem and we can't seem to find a BP medication (or combination of meds) to keep it constantly controlled. I am writing you because what's happening to me now is something I don't understand. I'm sure doctors get tired of patients coming up with nicknames for their ailments, but I haven't found anything like this in my general research to give the clinical name, so I can only call it "floating numbness"...I have had this at off and on periods of my life since getting sick and it is quite upsetting. I will simply be sitting still or standing up and a piece of my body will begin to go numb...say my hand, then after 5-10 mins, it will move up to my shoulder, then my bottom lip will begin to go numb, etc. No part of my body is specified, from my feet to my eye brow! It moves. It's very unsettling. My blood pressure is always high these days, and I am always easily dehydrated. I am very upset about this as both the numbness and Blood pressure problems are very disruptive to my life, and to be honest quite scary. My pancreatitis has been relatively controlled over the years but my kidney function ALWAYS floats around total kidney failure. I still urinate normally, and am quite thankful for that. my last kidney blood report stated that my kidneys are still filtering well enough, but the peritoneal dialysis seems to help.
