Detailed Answer:
Hi
I have studied your case,
Weakness and numbness in extremities can be side effect of microbid.
I will advise to stop drug and consult your doctor.
There can be age related arthritis of hip leading to pain and grinding sensation on walking.
Till time take analgesic and cartilage protecting medication like glucosamine sulphate.
For hip arthritis joint flexion, extension and rotation exercises will help.
Physiotherapist will help you better to learn more exercises in proper protocol.
If required intra-articular injection can be given.
At age of 66 osteoporosis can be associated so you may need to take calcium supplement.
Diet rich in calcium and protein will help.

In answer to your reply, the rare and extreme side effect of the Microbid is called Ascending Neuromuscular Paralysis, and yes stopping the medication and putting it on top of my Allergic Response list is a must! You assume that at 66,the grinding hip pain must likely be arthritis, when in fact it was a negative response to the Microbid. I am extremely fit, at the gym 4x/wk, do Crossfit, Circuit training, Spinning and scuba dive among other things. I take vitamins and no medication, perfect weight and BP.
PS, I am a Nurse Practitioner, and have been a nurse for 46 years and still practicing.
This is why this online diagnosing is not a good thing, it is all assumption.
Take care.
Glad to know your fitness level
