default
Posted on Mon, 12 May 2014
Question: My daughter who is 24 years old just got back from afterhours! She was complaining of her left big toe going very numb, this is a new symptom. She has warts on the heel part of her foot, but she is crying about the numbness in her toe? To look at it it has a raised bubble like around the top and along the side of the tou in which looks like it has fallen asleep, lighter (muck) than the rest of her toe. Any suggestions?

Brief Answer: Ischemia Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for your query. The symptoms appear to be due to lack of blood supply to the toe. This is to be considered as an emergency. Anything which is blocking the blood supply has to be removed. Since, it is an end artery there are chances of the ischemia progressing and the toe going into gangrene. Visit the ER as soon as possible and get a Arterial and venous Doppler scan if essential. Meanwhile do apply heat on the affected tow this improves the blood supply. Regards,
