What Causes Numbness In Outer Thigh?
Question: what could cause numbness in the front of my left hip? It stays with me all day.
Brief Answer:
Possibility of meralgia paresthetica
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The numbness of front of hip or anterolateral aspect of thigh may be due to compression of lateral cutaneous nerve of thigh. It occurs due to overweight, tight belts or any other compression over waist.
You should get nerve conduction study of lower limbs including femoral nerve.
I usually prescribe pregabalin with methylcobalamin for treatment initially.
Is there any history of back pain, abdominal pain or swelling, hernia or diabetes?
Hope you found the answer helpful.
