What Causes Numbness On Face And Arm Along With Slurred Speech During Pregnancy?

Question: My daughter is due with a baby in 2 days. About 4 weeks ago she woke up and about 15 minutes later went numb on her right arm and face including eye, tongue, etc. Her speech was extremely slurred. It came back to normal about 45 minutes later. She had a bad headache later that morning and that was all. We went to the ER where they did a cat scan and checked her out. They found nothing to explain the problem and it did not happen again until yesterday when her mouth went numb. She felt fine and it went away after about an hour. What should we do and should this could be a problem we need to look into or be concerned about?

First and foremost let me reassure there is unlikely to be any serious issue in view of Normal CAT scan.

I would strongly consider the possibility of Hypocalcemia (low calcium level)as cause of symptoms. It typically causes peri oral numbness and tingling sensation.
Adequate Calcium and Vitamin D supplement should take care of issue.
