Brief Answer: Just take medication regularly Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for using healthcare magic. I, Dr Abhishek Kapoor, would help you in this query. What ever symptoms, you have mentioned, are part of your anxiety disorder. If you have obsessive compulsive disorder, in that case, you would feel difficulty while reading or concentrating on task, which could lead to restlessness. The main reason, in your case, is obsessive thoughts that you may have. With drugs like paroxetine, which you have been taking, these symptoms would decrease and you would feel better. You can also try benzodiazepine like clonazepam that would give you sound sleep and it would also decrease the anxiety. You have to just take medicine regular and gradually you would improve. Medicine would take it time and gradually its dose can be increased according to the symptoms, but never leave the treatment in between. You can also try some relaxation exercise like JPMR, that would give you addition benefit. Rest, you can discuss with your treating psychiatrist In case, you need further help, you can ask. Brief Answer: You can use thoughts stoppage technique Detailed Answer: HI Look, drugs would take their time. Mean time, you can do thoughts stoppage exercise like reverse counting of days (sunday, saturday, friday, and so on), months (December, November, October, September and so on or 10 to 1. Try to use this technique when ever you have these thoughts. That would help to stop these thoughts immediately. You can also do relaxation exercise, that would help to control somatic anxiety due to obsessive thoughts. Gradually medication would able to control everything. There is nothing harm in taking Etizolam or clonazepam. That would help to control anxiety symptoms. If you are getting sedative effect, then you can start with minimum dose. That would help to get sleep and control anxiety. In case, you need further help, you can ask. Regards Dr. Abhishek Kapoor Psychiatrist
