suffering from ibs and taking ibset tab. empty stomach and setraline and etizolam tablet after breakefast and dinner.but still the stools are loose and through the day feel like a watery substance is moving in my stomach.please advise. my weight is 85 kg and with no other medical condition
Hi, Noted your history and understood the concerns.
Since you are a known patient of IBS taking Ibset, Sertraline and Etizolam the loose stools may be controlled by the following ways: Identify the foods, factors and beverages that cause loose stools and stop these altogether. Try taking bananas, activated charcoal and probiotics. Send stool for tests for three consecutive days so that if an infection is found out then you can be treated with a proper antibiotic, metronidazole. Get colonoscopy and CT scan of abdomen done. Blood tests to rule out tuberculosis and thyroid problems. Pancreatic evaluation also helps.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant, General Surgeon
