What Causes Occasional Pain In The Lower Right Abdominal Area?

default
Posted on Wed, 25 Jan 2017
Question: I have occasional pain in my lower right abdominal quadrant both anterior and posterior. It is not my appendix because it is not continuous & there is no increased pain when I place my hand there and press &
jiggle it. I am just trying to identify the involved organ/area.

Brief Answer:
several possible causes

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome. At this area, caecum, appendix and ascending colon are seen, and also right ovary and right kidney disorders may reflect pain in lower right area. It may be caecum diverticulitis if appendicitis is ruled out. Also, some more serious diseases such as tumors or polyps may manifest with colicky pain,in your age. The best solution would be to do total colonoscopy since there are no other methods to evaluate colon and small bowel. Wish you good health. Regards

Dr. Rommstein,
Thank you very much for your evaluation of my question. I have no ovaries but the others you mentioned are certainly possibilities. I will discuss with my Primary MD at my next visit.
