What Causes One Eye To Be Bloodshot?

default
Posted on Mon, 5 Oct 2015
Question: My one eye is bloodshot and it hurts as though I have something in it. It is not swollen and there is no fluid or crust of any sort. I washed it with sterile eye wash, but still feels the same. Can you tell me what it might be? And what I should do? And is it contagious?

Brief Answer:
Try to get eye drops containing ciprofloxacin and dexamethasone

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. From the attached image it looks like this could also be an allergic reaction or possibly also an abnormality with the eyelids, eye lashes, etc. Please also attach a clear close up image of your eye lids and the eye lashes (upper and lower).

For now I would recommend eye drops containing ciprofloxacin and dexamethasone (commonly sold as CIPLOX- D, and so on). Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist for the drops, and start the application of one drop in each eye twice a day.

I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes.
