What Causes Oozing Of Blood From The Incision Site Of Gall Bladder Removal?

Question: i had an emergency gall bladder removal on 4/27. Today one of the 4 incision sites has started weeping a little clear fluid with some blood. Do I need to go to an emergency room or emergency care to have this looked at or can I wait until Tuesday to get this checked out if the situation continues
Brief answer....you can wait
Detailed answer....
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
If there is no fever or if local site is not painful and hot or if there is no foul smell in the discharge, then there is nothing to worry.
It seems to be due to coming out of serous and some blood fluid from some residual pocket after the surgery.
In case you don't have above mentioned symptoms, then there is nothing to worry and you can wait till Tuesday to consult your surgeon.
I hope it helps, however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
