What Causes Pain Above The Navel Region?

Question: My husband is experiencing moderate pain above his navel and it was not relieved through a bowel movement. He tells me that this has happening lately, but it's worse today. What do you recommend?

Hi,

This sounds like gastritis mostly. I will recommend 20mg Omeprazole daily. He should avoid alcohol, tobacco and fatty food substances. Because this would also be acid reflux, let him avoid eating late and sleeping too soon after meals.

Thank you very much. I will try the Omeprazole for my husband right away. We are beginning to wonder whether he ought to be examined for a possible ulcer too.
