What Causes Pain And Excessive Bleeding After Taking The Unwanted Kit
Question: Hello doc ...my wife missed her period last 28feb nd when we checked upt ...it was positive ....nd den she took a medicine dat is unwanted kit ...nd she take on 3march ...now i ask doc as erlier on dis site ...he ssid u complteed. Ur abortorn ....nd he adviced a ultrasound scan ....nd i did an ultrasound ...in ultrasound endometrium is 11mm ...nd dere is fluid in left ovary ...is it baby or something else?nd now my wife hve problem ...she hve pain on left iliac region. ...nd now almost bleeding stop ...yesterday she had dark red blood comes out nd now only red colour blood cmng ......im asking is dere any relation with pain in left side of illiac region to pregnancy ......?? Or i do any ulyrasound again ? Doc plz suugest me .....nd last 5days she had more bleeding ...can u tell me she aborted or not?

So it is not just enough to have a positive home pregnancy test, but it is vital to consult a gynecologist and have a pelvic ultrasound scan.

Secondly, it confirms that the pregnancy is inside the uterus, rarely, there is a condition called ectopic pregnancy ( pregnancy outside the uterus ) which is very dangerous.
After confirming the pregnancy, tablets are taken by prescription.
Generally 1 tablet of Mifepristone is taken orally, 48 hours later 4 more tablets of Misoprostol are taken orally or inserted vaginally.
Bleeding with cramps starts in a few hours, and lasts heavily for a few days.
Spotting might continue for 15 days or more.
It is compulsory to have a follow up scan after 15 days to establish that the uterus is empty and the abortion is now complete.
Pills are more than 96 % effective in early pregnancy, however rarely there maybe complications such as - heavy bleeding, infection, failure of pills leading to surgical abortion , fainting etc.
Hence it is a must to keep a doctor in the loop throughout.

Please tell me the dates on which the test was pregnant, also tell me if a scan was done before taking the tablets, and also let me know dates on which tablets were taken, dates on which bleeding happened and then stopped.

She take mifegest on 3march nd 2tab after 24hour nd further 1tab on nxt 12hour ....nd den she bleed more ....clots came ....nd 1tab vaginally after12hour nd now she hve pain in left illiac region nd also pain in left back ...nd i dnt hve report ...whn i ll send u as soon as possible ....radiologist said ...dere is fluid in left ovary ...bt no pregnancy ...he also said endometrium is in normal size ...dere is no pregnancy .....pain from last 2_3days jst like some gas on dat side ....can u tell me wat is dat ....is aborted or not ...im so worried
