Question: Hi I just have a question about blood clots in the legs my legs have been cramping some pain my ankle and foot is discolored and my veins are popping out I have also been lightheaded and some days I have been short of breath like I am getting a cold

Regarding your clinical synptomatology, I would explain that it is highly suspicious of a blood flow disorder through the lower limbs blood vessels.
Coming to this point, a careful physical examination for checking arterial pulses presence, coupled with a lower limbs vessels Doppler ultrasound would be necessary to confirm any clinically significant artheropathies, vein insuficiency or thrombosis.
Additional tests to perform in case of a lower limb blood flow abnormality would be:
- ventilation/perfusion lung scan,
- cardiac ultrasound,
- pulmonary angio CT
in order to properly investigate pulmonary embolism.
You need to discuss with your attending physician on the above mentioned issues.
