What Causes Pain And Swelling In Right Shoulder Along With Numbness?
Question: I have pain and swelling in my right shoulder. there is little to no feeling in about a 6x6 inch area at the top of my shoulder. it's been getting progressively worse over the years and I went to the doctor, they did an exray and said it was VERY mild arthrtitis. Well if that's true, I would hate to know what bad arthritis feels like. it didn't seem as though the doctor was really listening though. I have a tingling sensation in the arm and shoulder when I wake up in the morning--especiallky if I sleep on it wrong. and sometimes it feels better to sleep on it. (weird) and lately when I bend my thumb, it sticks in the bent position. I can move it out but that has never ever been that way. (not like double jointed ) and it does hurt at times, but not always and not always under the same contitions. very confused. thanks
Brief Answer:
Seems to be due to nerve compression.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Numbness and tingling in shoulder and arm seems to be due to nerve compression. As your symptoms get worsened, I suggest you to get a MRI done and consult an orthopadician for proper evaluation.
Your thumb problem could be due to trigger thumb. Doing physiotherapy will be helpful.
Warm regards.
