What Causes Pain And Swelling In Scrotum?

He went to the Dr's 9 days ago. Dr found a large hard lump on bottom of left testicle.
It was about half size of his testicle.
Was sent away with antibiotics and an appointment for an ultrasound as Dr didn't know what it was.
4 days after the antibiotics the swelling and hear andmost of the pain had gone. But now left with a very small hard lump that appears to be at the back of the left testicle which we are unsure of its attached to the testicle or not.
He still has pain but it's mainly an aching pain. And a feeling that someone is holding his left testicle.
His ultrasound is tomorrow but we are very anxious scared and can't relax.
Thank you
It is due to Infection of testis and Epididymis

Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your husband had bacterial infection o Epididymis and Testis (Epididymo-Orchitis) which has responded to antibiotics prescribed by your Dr.
It takes 3-4 weeks for this infection to get cured completely and needs to take appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.
Ultrasound Scanning of Scrotum will help to confirm the diagnosis.
Please get his Urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to so that infection can be controlled quickly by taking appropriate antibiotics.
In the mean while continue taking antibiotics prescribed by your Dr and take anti inflammatory medicine like Diclofenac twice daily
Hope I have answered your query,Please feel free to ask if you have more questions I shall be happy to help you
Thanks with Regards,

It was performed by a dr at our surgery. Good news is there is no sign of cancer in either testicle. The lump he says is coming from his tubes that have formed a tight cluster at the bottom of his left testicle. He thinks he had an infection just got to see our Dr on Tuesday to see what's next. But no cancer is present so we feel very lucky and relieved. We thank you so much for your support.
Continue taking antibiotics.
