What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Hands?
A few days ago I noticed some tenderness on top of my hand like it was bruised, but there is no bruise showing. I do not remember injuring myself at all. Then 2 days ago I was picking my keys up and felt a "pop" on my palm right next to my thump. It is tender to the touch, the top of my hand is still tender, and I am also experiencing tenderness up to the middle of my forearm. My hand is also very swollen.
Is this something that I need to see a doctor for?

Better to get an X-ray of the hand
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HealthcareMagic..
Thank you for posting your query here and I am definitely going to help you out.
I read your question completely and have understood it...
Please note:
1. Yes. You are correct, sometimes it happens. We would not have noticed a small trauma.
Maybe some abnormal sleeping posture can cause such problems...
2. But, whatever it is.
Better to get an X-ray done to rule out any minor fractures.
3. The swelling will eventually disappear...
Please follow this--
A. Do not use ice, not recommended
B. Use painkillers with Trypsin enzymes, this will help to reduce inflammation if any
C. Elevate your right upper limb so that the swelling reduces
D. If the pain is severe, then you can use analgesic spray or gel containing Diclofenac.
Hope this helps you.
