What Causes Pain Behind Eye, Ear And Neck, And Sore Throat?

Posted on Tue, 7 Oct 2014
Question: hi, I have a sweet pain behind my left eye and ear and at the left upper side of my neck. It is an uncomfortable pain and continues for long hours. I also feel soreness in my throat and ear and heaviness in my head. it has been happening on and off for about more the two months. Painkillers ease the pain but for a short span and sometimes it goes away on its own and reoccurs in a week or less. I get worried since it happens always on one side of my head ,ear and eye. what are the possibilities? how can it be treated?

Brief Answer:
May be Neuralgic pain. Treatment with carbamazepine.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for your query.
In my opinion, you might be having a neuralgic pain.
If I were your treating doctor, I would have prescribed carbamazepine Tablet for 2 weeks along with
Pain killers. I think this should reduce the sensitivity to pain.
All these are prescription medicines, so I would advise you to consult with the doctor and get treated. Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
