Brief Answer:
Need to go in to be seen - urinalysis, urine culture, etc

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Yes, you should keep the appointment with the specialist, but if the area has recently become very painful, then you need to address what the acute problem is.

I recommend you go in to an urgent care clinic or ER where they can check your urine for infection. That is the only way to know if there is an infection. It is possible that you have an infection in addition to the cysts. Also, if the pain is escalating, they can give you pain medication. But I do think you should go in to be seen now as there may be something else going on. They can also do imaging studies (if you go in to the ER) to help see what is going on.

So please go in to be seen now, but also keep your appointment with the specialist, as what will be done today in the ER is acute management.
