What Causes Pain In Abdomen Radiating To Back?
Question: Good Morning,
For the past 3 months l have been experiencing pain in my abdomen(upper middle) which spreads in to my right side and round to my back. This pain comes and go, and l sometimes l can feel nauseous and experience burping after food. Have had a abdominal ultrasound which was normal, blood test including liver enzyme test normal. Doctor has said next step CT scan to look at pancreas. Could this be pancreatic cancer? Have not lost any weight, have actually put on weight and no changes to appetite. Thanks in advance

Brief Answer:
hi and welcome to hcm
Detailed Answer:
Ok,first, pancreatic cancer is the last thing to thing of,especially in your age. It would manifest with pain that radiates to left side and back, you would have elevated pancreatic enzymes. This is more likely to be galbladder or stomach issue. Ct scan should be done but if nothing is found on gallbladder or stomach then you need to do gastroscopy. Till that try to eat easier food, avoid alcohol, smoking and coffee and drink plenty of fluids. Wish you good health. Feel free to ask.
