What Causes Pain In Breast While Coughing And Sneezing?
Question: 28 Years female mother of 18 months boy, STOPPED BREAST FEEDING few months back. Mild constant pain in LEFT BREAST bottom site, pain is not in the breast, but from within. Experiencing pain for over 10 days, mild pain but constant. Having pain when coughing or sneezing, while going in auto pain on bumps on the road also sometimes, not external inflammation seen on the area with pain. Any suggestion on what might be the possible cause and which doctor to consult? Gynecologist or any other doctor? Any quick tests we could do in order to identify the exact problem cause. It is not clear if the pain is from the breast or from different part under breast. It may be a nerve or muscle pain. Thanks a lot.
Brief Answer:
It can be due to engorged breast.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
Your symptoms can be due to engorged breast because sometimes it will take time up to 3 months to completely dried up breast after leaving breastfeeding.
To relieve from pain, you can express the milk from breast and give hot fomentation to the breast and express milk after that.
As you are not having fever and foul smelling discharge from breast,it is less likely due to mastitis.
If you want to consult a doctor you can consult a Gynecologist for the same.
Hope found useful, feel free to discuss more information.
Good luck.
