Brief Answer:
pain in buccal mucosa

Detailed Answer:
Hello.

Please mention the age of your wife.

according to your description there can a possibility of third molar eruption or it can be due to an impacted third molar.

second possibility is infection in temporo mandibular joint (TMJ) I.e. jaw joint.

if I would be your treating doctor I would advice you to take a muscle relaxant like zerodol MR.

if you can upload the xray or picture of that area in mouth I can tell you about the further
treatment.

Hope this answer helps.

Regards
Dr. Shesh
