What Causes Pain In Chest And Back While On Ofloxacin?
Question: Hi, I am 32 years old unmarried woman. Caught a typhoid around on 15 october and on 27 october i found my test is negative. But the test igm is again positive on 19 december. before this test doctor prescribed me ofloxacin 500 mg once a day for 7 days i.e. 8 dec to 14 dec. still i feel the pain in the chest and back. plz suggest me.

You need to understand that Widal Test is an anti body test and can remain positive even for months even when you are cured of typhoid fever. This is because antibodies that are formed in typhoid fever and are detected in Widal test persists for long.
So, only rising titres of Widal test are significant.
Now, as far as Typhi Dot is concerned, that is also antibody test as it can be positive for few months following typhoid infection.
So, what is important is clinical co-relation of reports and symptoms.
I would like to know, that are you getting any fever?

No, I am not getting fever but some how feeling pain in stomach, upper back, chest and some times in breast also.

These are not symptoms of typhoid. You should understand that there is no significance of this report in your case as this report would be positive for long.
I would say, that these symptoms might be due to generalized weakness, acidity or can be muscular in nature.
I would recommend, well balanced diet, a good multivitamin containing Zinc and B-complex.
Take a combination of Pantoprazole and Domperidone.
You would be fine soon.
