What Causes Pain In Eye And Hip With Fatigue?
Question: Hello, I have been experiencing the following symptoms since January: 1) Periodic sharp, knife-like pain behind the right eye (and sometimes left), 2) Pain in the right hip area that, at times, extends to the lower back on the right side and sometimes down the right leg, 3) Extreme fatigue that washes over me, especially later in the day, 4) Periodic nausea after eating, 5) Cramping and a bloated feeling around my mid-section, and 6) Occasional numbness in my right leg. I experienced the pain in the eye and pain in the hip back in September, 2013 as well. It lasted about 1 1/2 months, then went away. Further, the symptoms tend to get worse as the fatigue gets worse.
Since January I have seen a neurologist who conducted two MRI's on my head (one with the XXXXXXX injection and one without), as well as a Visual Evoked Response test. All tests came back normal, and his opinion was that my ailment was not neurological. I have also seen my primary care physician who has ordered blood tests that consisted of a CBC, vitamin levels, and a thyroid test. All came back normal. She also ordered a pelvic ultrasound, which also came back normal.
At this time I am on Gildess FE 1-20 tablets once daily and Gemfibrozil 600mg tablets twice daily. I have also been concerned about Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, as I have many of the symptoms of that as well. I have suffered from the above-mentioned symptoms daily since January, and my primary care physician has been unable to identify a cause or make any diagnosis. Thank you for your time.
