What Causes Pain In Feet While Having Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

Question: Hello,
I have type 2 diabetes diagnosed for a couple of years. Been having pain in feet/Toes and also diagnosed with carpal tunnel in both hands. Went to Neurologist for nerve conduction tests that confirmed carpal Tunnel. Also had my legs and feet checked and was told No diabetic neuropathy. Rheumotologist put me on Neurontin and symptoms in hands and feet got better. I stopped it though because I thought it made me dizzy, plus I am already on many drugs. My big toe on tight foot has been extremely sore for some time. Is a Podiatrist a good next choice for me overall?

Brief Answer:
Please get a uric acid level done.
Detailed Answer:
Good day.
Noted your question. carpel tunnel syndrome cause pain and numbness in hands and palm. If you can't tolerate Neurontin, ,try Lyrica instead.
Thyroid abnormalities is another common cause of carpel tunnel syndrome and it's good to do a TSH and Free T4 levels.
Podiatrist will be able to help you with the foot problems. but if the pain is largely confined to toe alone, I was wondering of it is due to a gout attack. it may be worthwhile to do a uric acid level as well before meeting a podiatrist.
