What Causes Pain In Hip And Lower Back During Third Trimester?
Question: I am currently pregnant. I am in my third trimester (due in May), however, I have been having pain in my left hip, lower back and pressure in the front near my pelvis. Sometimes, it's hard for me to walk and turn over in the bed without holding on to something. This is my third pregnancy. I have varicose veins in my left leg from my inner groin down to my feet, as well as on the left side of my vagina. I have support hose and knee highs but the fire feeling from them is unbearable. Do you have any suggestions for comfort?
Brief Answer:
Leg raise will help
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
I read your query and I understand your concerns about pain due to varicose veins.
Following is my reply:
1) This pain is unfortunately not curable as it is going to increase as pregnancy advances.
2) Increased baby weight will increase the varicose veins.
3) Along with what you are doing, please take rest frequently by lying down for 30 minutes with raising leg on 2 pillows to 30 degrees for 30 minutes. This will reduce pain.
I hope I answered your query. I will be available for any follow up query you have.
