Posted on Tue, 15 Sep 2015
Question: Hello doctor, 25 days back i had an accident while driving activa, i had an MCL ligament injury. After that i took rest for 10 days and now almost recovered from pain and swelling. Initially i had pain on hip too. But after 3 days my pain went from hip side. I usually keep kneee brace in day time on knee. Suddenly yesterday i had a pain while i was laughing , pain was on hip portion. And while i am rotating leg 360 while sleeping i feel like different from the left leg. It has some ahort of pain in particular angle and sound at some degree. I askes my doctor he told all will go with time. Its due to stiffness because of non use. How can i back to normal routine as soon as possible. I stiill follow the routine like not bending my knee, not sitting on floor, doing simple strength exercises for knee. Today i self checked by rotating leg so i got a doubt? So main concern is about that sound and pain in hip. I feel mcl is very much normal now.

Brief Answer:
Can be a soft tissue injury.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
An injured MCL takes 3-4 weeks to heal and recover. Starting exercise and weight bearing on the leg can cause a re injury to the ligament.
The pain in the hip with the sound can be due to an injury to a ligament or a mild labral tear. This can be detected after an MRI scan of the hip. It is best to avoid all the painful movements and let the injury heal with rest.
Do not bear weight on the leg completely. You can use a walker for walking. Do consult your orthopedician for an examination and an MRI scan for proper diagnosis.
I hope this answers your query.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to minor inflammation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
If it is a too minor pain then it can be due to a mild inflammation. Then you can do a hot compress and avoid stressful activities like jogging. You can also take mild pain killers to decrease the inflammation and take joint lubricant supplements like glucosamine for 2 weeks after consulting with your orthopedician.
Hope my answer is helpful.
