What Causes Pain In Left Armpit Associated With Relief On Burping?

Question: For the past 3 days I have experienced left armpit pain associated with burping, burping often relieves the pain. Pain is intermittent and varies from aching to mild stabbing/throbbing.Addition occasional dizziness..new symptom

Brief Answer: It can be phrenic nerve irritation. Detailed Answer: Hello, In view of symptoms it looks like you have got phrenic nerve irritation. Phrenic nerve supplies diaphragm and irritation of this nerve can cause referred pain in shoulder region.May be gas in stomach stretches diaphragm and leads to referred pain in armpit.After burping when pressure on diaphragm is relieved , the pain subsides.If there are no other symptoms other than this, then there is no need to concerned or take any treatment.Regards.
