What Causes Pain In Left Nipple?

Question: My left nipple is really painful and the pain seems to continue in the area around it from time to time. The pain isn't at the nipple itself but around it at certain points. If my shirt shifts, that seems to put pressure on it to cause pain. It seems to get worse as time goes by.

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have pain in your left nipple since couple of weeks.

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Do you have any palpable lump in your breast ?
2) Is there any discharge from nipple?

The pain in nipple is mostly due to inflammation of the nipple.

Please take broad spectrum antibiotic like Augmentin along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily.

It should get cured within 2 weeks .

If problem persists consult qualified General Surgeon for clinical examination and further tests.
