What Causes Pain In Left Shoulder Blade And Numbness In Left Arm?

Question: Hello yes. I have pain in my left shoulder blade and my left hand has been tingling all day. I was woken up at 1am last night with what I thought was hearburn. Took some antacids and the heartburn subsided but I still have shoulder pain and left arm numbness and tingling in my left hand. Should I be concerned?

You should worry about your symptoms because this symptoms may be related to heart attack or other life threatening situation.

If you were my patient I would recommend to go to ER to exclude any life threatening situation. On that occasion I would recommend to do the following examinations:
- Blood work
- Ecg
- Chest x-ray
- Abdominal ultrasound
- Cardiac echo

If everything is ok than your symptoms may be related to GERD (acid reflux disease).
