What Causes Pain In Left Side And Frequent Urination?

I am a 30 year old software developer located in XXXXXXX
Prior to this company, I was working in a very small company of around 150 people.
After a while , I realised that there is no work for me according to my experience and expertise.
My Manager told me that my job is at risk as company fails to generate revenue from me for long.
After sometime I noticed that I was taking long(around 5 -8 seconds) to initate the urination even when the urge to urinate exists.
To make the things as worsen, I found my urine streamflow is compartively slower than before and it takes me a multiple visit to washroom to empty my bladder(around 3 to 5)
even when it seems it was full.
I even felt although rare but sometimes yes…. a bit pain in my left side of lower abdomen(I am not sure, might be because of normal gastrtic).
I switched to new company, visted my hometown and met my parents….and things got absolutely normal now i.e. all of the problems got vanished.
I need to understand, if there was or there exists any problem with my endocrine or it was psychological or it was because of high stress during that time period.
Please let me know if there is any medicine or any treatment I still need to to undergo.
Many Thanks for your advice….
It may be renal stone or psychological
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I read your query word by word and I feel that it is not due to some endocrine issue as none of the endocrine problem present in such a way and disappear like anything while visiting parents.
The possibility for me is renal stones most probably in left side. It is evident from left side pain, urinary hesitancy and need to visit bathroom repeatedly. We commonly observe in our patients that symptoms disappear when the stone is passed in urine once you take adequate amount of water. That is quite possible while visiting your home to get adequate food and relaxed and lot of fluid intake.
I guess that there is no stone in your kidney now because you have no symptoms for couple of days. Despite that get a X ray KUB or USG of whole abdomen for your mental peace and as a measure of prevention. Other than this it is always good to have at least two to three liters of water everyday which helps you in managing stress.
The second possibility for me is psychological stress or difficulty in dealing with your company. It is common thing in our generation professional because of multiple factors including work pressure, lack of job satisfaction, staying alone away from house among others.
I am writing down few of the strategies that will help you in management of stress.
1. Diet: Ensure intake of adequate quantity of fiber. 2 servings of vegetable salad and 2 servings of fruits( One preferable citrus fruit). proper diet does miracles and rejuvenates. Orange is good source of anti-oxidants. Avoid junk food and fast food especially pizza, burgers and excessive sweets
2. Ensure adequate water intake: Follow rule of 1 which i usually advise. 1 glass of water 1 hour before and 1 glass of water 1 hour after every meals will ensure adequate consumption of water .
3. Early morning Exercise: Brisk walking for 30 minutes at a stretch preferably in garden will be very helpful.
4. Avoid tea/coffee/ nicotine and alcoholic beverages:
5. Start your day with a glass of Lemon water with 2 spoons of honey added.
6. Don't take work so seriously: We all have the feeling to excel in our respective fields and don't spend adequate time with our own self trying to understand our own needs.
7. While working take frequent regular breaks: Taking regular breaks will not waste the time, but it will definitely increase the productivity, concentration and reasoning. Take break for 5 minutes every 30 minutes.
8. Avoid late night socialization
9. Avoid staring for longer time at the computer screen or TV for longer time
10. Steam inhalation before going to sleep will be very refreshing
11. Multivitamin and Calcium supplement.
12. Meditation and Yoga
