Brief Answer:
the thyroid disorder is not likely to be related to this...

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX, Welcome to HealthcareMagic,
I've gone through your query and understand your concern for your Wife,

First of all, please note the thyroid disorder seems unrelated to this present conditions..

Let her take plenty of rest, remain well hydrated by drinking a lot of water, she can take mild pain-killer like Tab PARACETAMOL 650mg twice to thrice daily (after some food) for the time being...mild local analgesic spray(eg. Volini) can also be gently applied over the area...

Try not to engage in any kind of strenuous activities...it could be due to some pulled muscle/ligament strain, could be even due to inappropriate posture while lying down...just rest for now and observe how she stays for the time being...

However, if despite this there's no improvement, any further worsening of the present scenario, then you should take her to either any local physician or preferably a Neurologist for a prompt check-up of the area and a few investigations(CBC, ESR, CRP, X-ray of the Cervical spine etc.) to look into it further...

Kind Regards
