What Causes Pain In The Right Leg When Diagnosed With Osteoarthritis?

default
Posted on Mon, 23 Oct 2017
Question: I have been experiencing really sore calves, right side more sore than the left. I have not done anything strenuous to cause this. This began yesterday and has not changed. My potassium at my last RA labs was 4.3 (August 7, 2017) The pain/soreness seems to have moved up my right leg a bit to the front of my thigh just above the knee. It is not as sore as the calf area on the right leg. It primarily hurts the most when I walk. I do have and am treated for RA and Osteoarthritis. Thanks for your help. xxxxx XXXXXXX

I don't know if this is just part of my RA or something different. Thanks.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

The pain you are experiencing is likely due to the rheumatoid/osteo arthritis. You can take Advil 600 mg up to 4 times daily to relieve the pain. If the pain is not relieved with Advil alone, follow up with your rheumatologist to see the need for treatment with corticosteroids. Corticosteroids help relieve inflammation and pain in acute flare-ups of RA.

Hope this answers your questions
