What Causes Pain In The Right Side Of The Chest On Moving The Hand?

Question: i stopped smoking one month back but my chest in right side has a small pain while moving my hand? am not a chronic smoker though
Brief Answer:
Sling for rest and anti-inflammatory medicines
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Well, Stopping smoking was the best news.
The pain on the right side of the chest on moving the hand is due to the inflammation ( swelling ) of the area where the muscles responsible for hand movement are attached to the ribs.
Simply take anti-inflammatory medicines and give a rest to the right hand by putting it into a sling attached to the neck. This will assure an early and complete recovery.
Avoid any movement which you know increases the pain.
Nothing serious to worry about.

can you suggest me some medicine for that?
Brief Answer:
OTC Ibuprofen
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I can suggest you the OTC products.
You may please take Ibuprofen 400 mg thrice daily after food. And apply any rubrafacient ( muscle relaxant ) ointments available over the counter.
I am really sorry that we can not give you the prescription based medicines . but this will help you the most.
Please remember, Giving rest to the affected part is most important part of the treatment for a permanent cure.
