What Causes Pain In The Splenic Area?

Supportive care , needs work up and management.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. Pain in splenic area is likely a gastric discomfort most probably inflammation of gastric mucosa also known as gastritis. I would like you to get some baseline work up and examination to rule out other possibilities for this left splenic area pain.
Modifying diet and lifestyle, reducing weight if BMI more than 25, eat small frequent meals, avoid triggers like smoking, alcohol, beverages, soda, beer, spicy foods, processed foods, canned products, chocolates etc. Use more fluids and take diet rich in fiber, prefer natural fruits and vegetables. Delay lying down after meal for 3 hours. Keep head side of the bed elevated for 8 inches. Take some pepto and tylenol for the pain relief and consult your doctor if the symptoms do not subside.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

2 inches tall and 170 weight. I thought this was a muscle pull from exercise. But it did not go away. I stopped doing sit ups because it seemed to make it worse.
I took Zantac for 2 weeks and it helped a little. I have prostate cancer and the prostate will be removed in 3 weeks with surgery. I thought it could be peptic ulcer
perhaps. I love spicy food and I do drink a little beer or wine 5 or 6 times a week
but small amounts. I am 58 and am in very good shape. The cancer was caught
early according to the surgeon but I read where it could spread to lymph nodes and
thought that could be spleen pain?

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back to me
I am sorry for your troubles. Pain not resolving with muscle relaxants, responding to zantac makes it more likely gastric discomfort as we suspected early. You underweight than recommended BMi is itself a reason for these pains as well. Your love for spicy food and use of beer is playing a role as well . With prostate cancer detected early and not spread to nodes of spleen, splenic pain is less likely . Modifying diet and lifestyle, supportive care and gettign some BMI back to 18 plus is recommended here.
I hope it helps.
