What Causes Pain In The Upper Left Part Of Chest?

default
Posted on Thu, 22 May 2014
Question: O
During the night and at present I feel a very slight sensation, which could hardly be defined as pain, in the upper left part of my chest. I would define it as discomfort, about one or two on the pain scale. I have had Afib for many years and I have been taking Warfarin. As of last evening I have been put on Eloquil.
The fact that the sensation is so minor leads me to believe that I do not need to go to the hospital. I would appreciate your opinion

Brief Answer:
You need to consult your treating doctor

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I have read your query.

As per your symptoms cause can be cardiac related.
Do you have history of hypertension?

At age of 89 you need to consult your treating doctor to rule out cause for discomfort.
After clinical examination by your treating doctor he may advise ECG or blood investigation or 2-D ECHO.
Take ample diet and rest for while.
