What Causes Pain In The Upper Side Underneath Shoulders?

default
Posted on Mon, 19 May 2014
Question: Hi,

I am facing the backache problem since last 1 month, the backache is not on the lower side but actually happens on the higher side underneath the soldiers (this more seems to be kind of stiffness). Because of the back pain I am not able to sleep during the nights. I have seen the Dr. and he has recommended few medicines since last one month like Pregabel-M, Shelcal-HD.

The pain only occurs during the night while sleeping but as soon as I get up and do some movements pain automatically subside. The mattresses which we are using are also Ortho mattress so don’t think that changing is mattress will also help because I tried sleeping on the floor as well with no help.

Please advise ?

Brief Answer:
Physiotherapy....

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXX,

At the outset, I am not clear about "pain underneath the soldiers". Can you specify the location of pain in more clearer words that what you just described.

This type of pain may be due to an issue with the spine, mechanical reasons or other underlying systemic conditions. anemia; nutritional deficiency - calcium, magnessium, vitamin d; thyroid disturbances; chronic infection are few systemic conditions that need to be excluded. You should discuss with your treating doctor about these illness.

If no obvious cause is found, you should consider consulting a physiatrist. He/she may be able to figure out mechanical issues and suggest remedies accordingly. The remedies may be in the form of just exercises or other physiotherapy techniques.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.
