What Causes Pain In Upper Abdomen?
Question: Hi. I am a 45 year old female in good health. For the past 2 days, I have been experiencing pain in my upper abdomen. It seems to be getting worse. It started off as severe cramps in that area that would last 15-20 seconds, but now it is a constant ache and really hurts. I am burping at times, but it doesn't feel like gas pains. I vomited the first day (only once) and later had diarrhea. I have tried Pepto Bismol and Tums, but they don't seem to help. It hurts to walk today. I recently returned from a trip to Central XXXXXXX but showed no symptoms there. I can't see my GP for another day, at the least. I'd appreciate any insight!
Brief Answer:
Consult your doctor immediately
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I would ask you tonsee your doctor as soon as possible.
The pain could be just due to gastritis bit because of the severity you will need a physical examination and an ultrasound of the abdomen.
In the mean time you can take prilosec which contains omeprazole and is available as an over the counter medication. It should help you with your symptoms.
Invade this doesn't work you can use buscopan.
