What Causes Pain In Upper Molar Tooth Post An Root Canal Treatment?

default
Posted on Thu, 30 Jun 2016
Question: It has been around one and half years past, one of my upper molar tooth has been diagonised with RCT.

It is not on regular basis, but sometimes I feel bearable pain there. Especially, when season changes. It last for few days then it stops.

In addition to that, some time I feel sensation while having cold and hot stuffs.

Doctor advised to wash mouth with salt and mild warm water. I did it. But still it continued.

Please suggest what to do. Do I need to go to doctor going forward. Or you recommand any medicine?

Brief Answer:
Gum infection, radiograph, scaling/root planing.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
As far as the pain in the root canal treated tooth is concerned, it can be because of the gum infection secondary to deposits around the tooth. Nothing to be panic, consult an oral physician and get a radiograph like radiovisuography to confirm the diagnosis. If it is because of the gum infection, then you need to get scaling and root planing done. If there is any defect in root canal treatment, then the root canal treatment has to be repeated.
Regarding the sensitivity in the teeth, it can be because of the worn out teeth. You can use desensitising tooth paste like sensoform.
Get the radiograph done and upload the images of the radiograph so that I can give you better diagnosis and exact treatment plan.
I hope I have answered your query. if any queries are there reply me back. take care.
