What Causes Pain On My Back Radiating Around Waistline Area?

Question: I have a history of kidney stones...Today I had pain on the lower right side of my back radiating around to my right side in my waistline area...I also had a bad stomach ache...I felt fine upon waking up this morning. It hit me around 7:45 a.m. today and has lasted most of the day...I had chills off and on...My urologist did not return my call to schedule a KUB....The stomachache has subsided, but I'm cold and still have the pain on my right side...My temp is 99. I started a prescription of Sertaline last week, 25 mg for 7 days and 50 mg starting today. I have to be careful with what I take for pain...I took 2 Extra Strength Tylenol at 10:30 p.m. CST. Thank you.

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have history of having Kidney stones and have severe pain in Right Loin..
Severe pain in loin with chills is strongly suggestive of stone either in kidney or ureter.

Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination and get following basic tests done under his guidance to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Routine Urine test and Urine culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis.

In the mean while start taking broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefexime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin and antispasmodic like Drodaverine or Cyclopam twice daily.

Ensure to drink more water.To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

Further treatment will be decided by him depending upon the results of these tests and final diagnosis.
