What Causes Pain On The Side Of Ribs?

Question: My husband has pain on his right side by ribs. He has been to PCP who told him to go to a chiropractor. This is not working. It is causing him to loose sleep and hurts all the time. He does not drink alcoholic beverages. He has had his gall bladder removed in the past. Do you have any ideas? Thank you
