What Causes Pain Under The Rib Cage?
Not as painful as it was in the earlier days but still present. Mostly felt after a day of sitting down at desk and lying down on side at night. Ive had xray, blood tests and ultrasounds and nothing found so have been told either:
A) bowel
B) musle pain ( three years?!)
C) cosotroisis of the rib ( not sure of spelling)
I get told to take nurofen for a few days when it gets bad and that helps but it will always return.
I am now taking tumeric to help imflamation, it has helped slightly.
What are your toughts on the diagnoses
Can be due to air.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The squishy and XXXXXXX feeling under the rib can be due to air under the skin due to an injury some time ago. It can also happen due to an inflammation - costochondritis. The air usually gets absorbed on its own with time.
Taking mild pain killer and avoiding lying on that side will help in decreasing the pain and inflammation. You can also do a hot compress and apply a local analgesic gel on the area to help.
I hope this answers your query.
