What Causes Painful Bumps On Tongue Of A 6 Year Old?
Question: My 6 year old son has little bumps on his left side of his tongue in which are rough it is causing him great pain and his tongue is white. The bumps are located deep towards the throat. He has been having these symptoms for 3 weeks now. This seems to be chronic and everything I have been putting just momentarily relieve the pain but is not healing. What can I give him to ease the pain and heal the wound?

I sent two pictures to you. He does not have fever, nausea. It is just discomfort. It is hard to see because it is in the base and side of tongue but it feels rough. He is truly in pain. He takes a gummy vitamin daily called Flinstones Gummies and he takes Montelukast SOD 5mg for mild ashma every day too

I saw through the images(which is not that clear) and I must say that nothing much to be worried from this view.Pain can be due to ulceration on the tongue .
It must have caused due to trauma while having food or due to some sharp food stuff.White patch is nothing to be scared of as it can be removed by tongue scraping(as seen from this images).Do slight scraping of tongue by back of brush or tongue scraper.
If it is non-scrappable it can be candidiasis(fungal infection) as he is taking medicine regularly for asthma . Nothing to be scared, its usual when you take medicine regularly. He must take Nystatin (antifungal gel) and apply on the surface but before that, please consult a doctor for physical examination as clinical picture and this images can reveal different situations. Have lots and lots of water. Have citrus fruits like orange, guava etc. Besides all these stay calm and stress free.
I must say that you should have visit a dentist nearby as the real clinical condition can give lot more explanation than mere images.
