What Causes Painful, Itchy Red Rashes On The Skin Around The Surgical Site?

Question: Some pain, not unbearable. Rash consists of red pimple like dots on my skin from scratching, and a red area around surgical site. Could I possibly have gotten the staph infection again after all this time?
thank you.
first part of my question disappeared. I had stated that I had an open ankle fracture in September, had surgery with hardware installed. A month later had staph infection, had surgery again to remove hardware. Went home from rehab in mid December, Had some itching before I went home. MY itching has gotten worse, and the rash has developed with red lesions all over my body. My ankle area hurts sometimes, it is still red and swollen, and I get a pins and needles feeling. The itching is severe on my legs and my body. I hope this information helps.
thank you.

Thanks for asking on HelathcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through your query. The itchiness and rashes are more likely to have occurred due to some allergic reaction and taking cetirizine once daily for a few days should help. Also upload an image of the rashes as well as that of the surgery site (for redness) and I would guide you if anything seems worrisome. I doubt if Staph has anything to do with this.
I will await your response.
