What Causes Painful Knot On Groin?
Question: i have a knot on my groin. it hurts, cant see any pus. it may be a risen or boil. what should i do? i am a female. I have never done this before. I don't know if i have the right type of doctor for this.

i noticed it two days ago.It hurts when it is touched or when pressure applied. temperature is normal. there is a red circular spot in the middle. no itching. knot is inbetween hard and soft.. pap was normal, but has been several years since i had one. dont know the last time i had a gyn eval.. sorry can't send picture.

AVoid toucing or handling it, and you can try applying a local antibiotic ointment ( such as Bacitracin ).
If it does not subside within a week, please have a gynecological evaluation to rule out a possible enlarged lymph node.
